The quality and scale of what has already been achieved at Countesswells is beginning to be recognised throughout the planning and housebuilding industry, with the new community winning and being shortlisted for several prestigious awards.
Countesswells was recently commended as ‘Residential’ project of the year at the RICS Awards 2018, where it was one of almost 40 of Scotland’s most impressive and community beneficial property developments battling it out for the top honours.
Further award-winning success has followed as Stewart Milne Homes – the first developer on site – took home the award for large ‘Private Development of the Year’ at the Homes for Scotland Awards, for its work on the first neighbourhood of Regency Place.
The Homes for Scotland Awards is the largest gathering of its kind in Scotland and aims to showcase the high-quality of work in the industry and the value it adds to the country’s social wellbeing and economic success.
Countesswells was also the only UK project to be shortlisted in four categories at the Planning Awards; underlining its exemplary status in overall vision, masterplanning, design and innovative approach to delivery of the project and construction.
Director of special projects at Stewart Milne Group, Jim Fitzsimons, said: “Countesswells is growing to become one of Scotland’s most vibrant and exciting new communities. To have already won awards at such as early stage of the project, in several of the country’s most prestigious events, is testament to our meticulous planning, design and delivery of an entirely new community.
“Our aim is to make Countesswells one of the greenest, most attractive places to live in the North-east and this recognition of our efforts in taking a fresh approach to creating something exceptional is very welcome.”
